Sujith G S
In the world of tried and tested formulas adopted by Architects and Interior Designers, Sujith G S is a welcome aberration.   A casual  interest in buildings soon bloomed into a fascination that led him to take  up Architecture professionally. He joined the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, and soon after graduating he joined Larsen & Toubro as an architect. After five years, he joined  STAPAI Calicut, a well-known name in the field of Interior Design and Architecture, as a senior Architect.
As an architect, he worked on an array of projects that reflected his unique style and also initiated blogs that aimed to inform and educate readers about Architecture and urbanism in India and Kerala.   His love for writing saw him author his first book, ‘Timeless Resorts’, a monograph on STAPATI’s hospitality projects.
His work in the field of architecture has found him many an admirer and is also considered to be an expert on urban architecture. He is a regular contributor to various architectural publications and has been a guest jury member for several architecture schools in Kerala. A visiting faculty at AVANI Institute of Design Calicut, he is presently researching about a monologue on Laurie Baker’s architecture.
When not busy designing buildings, Sujith spends his time sharing his thoughts on Architecture, traveling, learning about other cultures, and studying vernacular and contemporary architecture. He shares his thoughts on Design and Architecture in his blog, Architecture Student’s Corner.
Writing about Architecture, Sujith articulates, “Architecture is a reflection of the social, cultural and economic fabric of any society, concerning predominantly with the built environment and the allied aspects which influence human progression. From the initial practitioners to the organized profession of architecture, architects have evolved continuously, embracing multiple mediums for communicating their ideas and concepts and ultimately getting these manifested in a tangible reality. Drawings and other means of graphical representation form the core faculty for architects, yet other media are equally significant.”
He is definitely a name to watch out for!
Catch Sujith on July 30th  at  Cindrebay Nurture’s Living Edge seminar.  The Seminar will bring academicians, well-known architects, and Design influencers together and give an opportunity to up and coming designers to network and bond over a common theme; love for design.
