Asad Firdosy – In pursuit of Art.
Asad Firdos – An Architect by qualification, furniture designer as his vocation and a craftsman at heart.  He took architecture as a profession as his father suggested that it is ideal for him. He accepted the decision and completed his graduation from VNIT in 1992. However, Asad’s close interaction with skilled craftsmen created an inclination towards furniture design and he decided to make a career in it. His family business ‘Firdos Furnishes’ gave him hands-on training and understanding of crafting wood. Their studio is now known as Asad Firdosy Designs.
Since childhood, Asad was surrounded by traditional style of teak wood furniture. The crafting done by hands in the most skilled meticulous way gave him an obsession for perfection. His designs retain purity in form and you can see a glimpse of ‘Art Deco’ in them. Asad’s style is a result of experiments in terms of exploring concept, material medium, thought process, production, techniques and the inherent talent maintaining the legacy of teak. He had the opportunity to exhibit his work at various exhibitions in Delhi, Mumbai & Frankfurt in Germany. Some of his designs and furniture pieces have also been featured in Miami for their design & finish. Asad’s work has been featured in media locally & internationally winning great reviews.
